Steven Merino was admitted to the California Bar in 1988 and to the Paris Bar in 2001, after having obtained the Certificat d’aptitude à la profession d’avocat.
He regularly advises on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, restructurings and particularly transactions requiring documentation in English and French.
His business law practice often involves a comparative analysis of the Anglo-American and French legal systems, in areas including company organization and governance as well as negotiation, preparation, performance and termination of bilingual commercial contracts.
His practice also includes international arbitration, particularly under the Rules of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the French Commission of International Arbitration of ICC France. His expertise in business law and international arbitration has been recognized in the rankings published in specialized publications and guides such as “Legal 500” and “Option Droit & Affaires.”
